The American Political Science Association (APSA) has awarded Melanie Hughes the Leon Weaver Award for her paper, “The Election of Minority Women: Ethnic Parties, Ethnic Seats, and Gender Quotas,” which is co-authored with Stephanie Holmsten and Robert Moser at the University of Texas at Austin. The Leon Weaver Award is given to the best paper presented the previous year at an APSA panel sponsored by the Representation and Electoral Systems section.
