The Department of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a senior scholar who will add to our department's existing strengths in research and teaching on social movements and transnational processes, and whose research program contributes significantly to sociological understandings of Islamic societies, cultures, and religion. We are recruiting for a position at the advanced associate- or full-professor level, pending budgetary approval. We are looking for candidates with strong records in both research and teaching, with experience or demonstrable potential for departmental leadership.
